Problem Note 46129: Using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza to write a SAS® data set to a new table in the Netezza database might result in missing values

DetailsAboutRate It

When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to Netezza to write a SAS data set to a new table in the Netezza database, character columns are created as type VARCHAR. This behavior can result in missing values if you are using a double-byte character (DBCS) edition of SAS.

You can manually specify NVARCHAR or NCHAR using the DBTYPE= data set option.

Beginning with SAS® 9.3, you can use the following LIBNAME option to create the NVARCHAR data type:

CHAR_AS_NCHAR=YES
Here is an example:

libname nz netezza server=NZServer user=NZUser pwd=NZPwd database=NZdb char_as_nchar=yes;
